As mobile devices increasingly become the way clients consume and share content on the web it’s more important than ever for businesses of any kind to have a website that is mobile responsive. When Sarah, of Sarah Hedden Photography, a Jacksonville Florida wedding, and lifestyle photographer, first contacted me for website design services she had some major design issues with her website and did not like the overall client experience.

One of the biggest issues was that her website was not mobile responsive or even mobile friendly. Which meant that it was difficult for potential clients to navigate her website easily from their smartphone and as such they weren’t getting the full impact of her work. She was also currently using an outdated version of ProPhoto and needed to update to a more responsive theme.  Here is what Sarah’s website looked like before.

During the design process, I work closely with clients to determine their likes, wants and needs. After chatting with Sarah about her needs we decided going with a Divi Theme would work better to show off her photography. When we first began planning, Sarah originally liked a template called Soho from The Design Space. However, I didn’t feel it worked with Sarah’s brand and suggested that a custom design would work better using elements that she loved, like parallax scrolling.

Now Sarah has a website that is fully mobile and responsive across all devices, here is what the new website looks like now, to view Sarah’s website click here>>

I also really love the way Sarah’s personality shines through in everything she does. Her previous website organized text in such a way that her personality was lost. I wanted the new design to show off how enthusiastic Sarah is about her work.

As creatives, we’re known for our unique talents and individuality. Your website should be an extension of yourself and your brand, it should be just as unique as you are. The final words I will leave to Sarah…

Yvette did a phenomenal job setting up my new website! From the initial contact and through the entire process, she checked in almost daily! Once we figured out exactly what I wanted, she gave me enough time to prepare all of my images and wording so that when it was time for her to start setting it up, I was able to really see how it would look in real-time! As a matter of fact, because she worked with me so diligently, I changed my mind on a few pages because we both agreed it didn’t flatter my brand or image!  Yvette even talked me into an easier platform, so that I am able to handle changes on my own site once she was done! I had an issue about a week after I went live. Instead of calling Yvette, I went over the steps she showed me in the live online training, and easily figured it out!

Yvette knows exactly what she’s doing and she is a joy to work with. I am so happy with my new website, and I’m so thankful I found Yvette!
