Whether you use just one social media profile or several, if you are in business then you will know that how you connect and reach your audience has changed from traditional methods such as print advertising to online social media… So it is important that your online profile shows the best side of you.

Whether that means that you have a personal account that you keep just for family and friends and another for business, you need to get social…

Which social media¬†channel you choose will depend largely on your target audience and who you are trying to reach, for example, if you have a Facebook account and you are trying to reach the CEO of a PLC the chances are you won’t reach them on Facebook, likewise if you have a Linkedin account and all of your clients are on Facebook you aren’t going to get very far either.

FACEBOOK, continues to be the biggest social media network with over 1.94 billion active monthly users worldwide! This figure is an increase on the previous year, so if you were thinking that Facebook is not for you, the statistics would suggest that they are too big to ignore… in addition to this there are over 1.15 billion mobile daily users, which demonstrates the importance of mobile traffic. And daily 1.28 billion users log in to their Facebook accounts. which makes having Facebook Pixel’s installed on your website an absolute must. The age range of the average user on Facebook is 25 to 34 years, of which 76% are female and the highest traffic is midweek between 1 pm and 3 pm… possibly this has something to do with that middle of the week feeling!

The best way to know when to post on your page is to look at the ‘insights page’ that gives you all the information about when your target clients are online and are most likely to see your posts. If your¬†clients are online at a time of day that you can’t be there then get in the habit of scheduling posts so that they are posted at a time that it will be mostly visual.

If you are writing a post and you are including other businesses or clients, then tag them in the post, that way you will increase your reach and they will know that you have mentioned them, this may also generate more likes for your post and where possible ask for feedback or comments or add links to other parts of your website that are relevant.

I hope that you have enjoyed this post, if you have any feedback then do please leave it in the comments box below, if you would like more information on Social Media then do let me know.
